Have Questions? We have Answers.

Absolutely not! Our services are open to anyone who wishes to access them. While our content, resources, and services focus on men’s mental health, they are available to all individuals seeking support and information. Our goal is to empower everyone, regardless of background, by boosting their confidence and providing the tools they need to enhance their psychological well-being. At this time, MENtalCare TeleTherapy services can accommodate individuals ages 12 and up.

Men face a spectrum of mental health challenges, encompassing conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, substance use disorders, schizophrenia, and eating disorders. These issues can affect individuals across genders, but certain mental health conditions are disproportionately prevalent among men. Additionally, men often experience significant mental health challenges that are not classified as conditions. These include workplace stress, burnout, relationship issues, marital problems, and the pressure to conform to societal expectations of masculinity.

Mental health symptoms vary widely, and each individual may experience them differently. Be alert for general symptoms that could indicate someone is silently struggling: persistent sadness, changes in sleep patterns, difficulty concentrating, loss of interest or pleasure, increased irritability or anger, fluctuating energy levels, changes in weight, social withdrawal, self-harm, or suicidal thoughts. Physical symptoms such as headaches, stomach aches, or chronic pain may also manifest. If you observe these behavioral changes, start by monitoring and recording them. If they persist, seek support from a mental health professional. If you notice these symptoms in others, initiate an open discussion about your concerns, offer your support, listen non-judgmentally, and encourage them to seek professional help.

Men can experience significant benefits from seeking support from a mental health professional. Professionals who specialize in behavioral health are clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists. Various evidence-based treatment models are available to alleviate symptoms and promote healthier outcomes. Explore these diverse therapies in detail under the “Knowledge Hub” tab, where you’ll find valuable insights to help you tackle the issues that keep you up at night.

If you or someone you know is struggling with unsafe thoughts or feelings, experiencing a crisis, or in need of immediate assistance, please reach out for help. MENtalCare is unable to provide emergency services or crisis management.

However, we highly encourage you to consider choosing these options to get help:

  • Immediately contact a family member, close friend or neighbor. Describe the situation and let them know you need help.
  • Text or call 988 (or click on the banner at the top of the website) for immediate support. The national suicide hotline provides support in Spanish, too.
  • In emergencies, do not hesitate to call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room for assistance.

We recognize that experiencing unsafe thoughts can be scary and unsettling. Your safety and well-being are always paramount and help is available.

Visit the “Knowledge Hub” tab to access educational materials on topics such as suicidal ideation and self-harm.
